Gas and groundwater monitoring will require the insertion of boreholes to BS10175 specification and then a programme of monitoring that is usually agreed with the local authority contaminated land officer. This typically requires a minimum of three return visits to the site and then sampling for water analysis to pre agreed specifications or gas (typically: methane, carbon dioxide and oxygen) monitoring at different atmospheric pressures.
